India ranked 130th in the list of 189 countries in the United Nations Human Resource Development Index 2018. This report has been released by the United Nations Development Program. According to this report, India's Human Resource Development Index has increased by 50% between 1990 and 2017. This makes it evident that millions of people have come out of poverty during the last two decades in India. During this period, India's average life expectancy has increased by 11 years. Between 1990 and 2017 India's gross domestic product grew by 226.6%. Three main aspects are studied in the Human Resource Development Index: long and healthy life, access to knowledge and a better standard of living. Norway, Switzerland, Australia, Ireland and Germany are the most in this index. Niger, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Chad and Burundi are at the bottom of this list.

189 देशों को सूची में संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानव संसाधन विकास सूचकांक 2018 में भारत को 130वां स्थान प्राप्त हुआ। इस रिपोर्ट को संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास प्रोग्राम द्वारा जारी किया गया है। इस रिपोर्ट के अनुसार 1990 और 2017 के बीच भारत के मानव संसाधन विकास सूचकांक में 50% वृद्धि हुई है। इससे यह स्पष्ट होता है कि भारत में पिछले दो दशकों के दौरान लाखों लोग गरीबी से बाहर आये हैं। इस अवधि के दौरान भारत की औसत जीवन अपेक्षा अवधि में 11 वर्षों की वृद्धि हुई है। 1990 और 2017 के बीच भारत के सकल घरेलु उत्पादन में 226.6% की वृद्धि हुई है। मानव संसाधन विकास सूचकांक में तीन मुख्य पहलुओं का अध्ययन किया जाता है : लम्बा व स्वस्थ जीवन, ज्ञान तक पहुँच और बेहतर जीवन स्तर। इस सूचकांक में नॉर्वे, स्विट्ज़रलैंड, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, आयरलैंड और जर्मनी सबसे हैं। इस सूची में नाइजर, मध्य अफ्रीकी गणराज्य, दक्षिण सूडान, चाड और बुरुंडी सबसे निचले पायदान पर है।

दिल्ली सरकार ने दक्षिण कोरिया के सीओल नगर के साथ ‘मैत्री व सहयोग समझौते’ पर हस्ताक्षर किये हैं। इस समझौते के तहत दोनों शहर पर्यावरण, परिवहन, पर्यटन, ठोस कचरा प्रबंधन तथा जन स्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र में सहयोग करेंगे। इसके लिए दिल्ली सरकार को शहरी विकास विभाग में एक ‘ट्विनिंग सेल’ शुरू करनी होगी तथा इसकी सहायता के लये एक समिति का गठन करना होगा। यह ‘ट्विनिंग समझौता’ 14 सितम्बर, 2018 से तीन वर्ष तक लागू रहेगा। आवश्यकता पड़ने पर इसमें संशोधन भी किया जा सकता है।

Indian Coast Guard recently launched the indigenously built patrol ship 'Vijaya' in Chennai, Tamilnadu. This patrol vessel also has the necessary equipment to prevent pollution from the oil spill in the ocean. This 98 meter long Offshore Patrol Weasel (OPV) has been built by Larsen & Toubro at Kuttapalli Shipyard. This ship is designed to carry a twin engine helicopter and 4 high speed boat. In this, two boats are used for search and rescue, maintaining law and so on. It uses modern navigation, communication equipment, sensors and machinery. 30mm and 12.7 guns have been installed in this vessel. It will be kept in Odisha's Paradip port.

भारतीय तटरक्षक बल ने हाल ही में तमिलनाडु के चेन्नई में स्वदेशी निर्मित गश्ती जहाज़ ‘विजया’ को लांच किया। इस गश्ती जहाज़ में सागर में तेल के फैलाव से होने वाले प्रदूषण को रोकने के लिए आवश्यक उपकरण भी हैं। इस 98 मीटर लम्बे ऑफशोर पट्रोल वेसेल (OPV) को लार्सेन एंड टुब्रो ने कुट्टापल्ली शिपयार्ड में निर्मित किया है। इस जहाज़ को एक ट्विन इंजन हेलीकाप्टर तथा 4 हाई स्पीड बोट के ले जाने के लिए बनाया गया है। इसमें दो बोट का उपयोग खोज व बचाव कार्य, कानून व्यवस्था को बनाये रखने इत्यादि के लिए बनाया गया है। इसमें आधुनिक नौचालन, संचार उपकरण, सेंसर तथा मशीनरी का उपयोग किया गया है। इस जहाज़ में 30 मिमी व 12.7 गन स्थापित की गयी है। इसे ओडिशा के पारादीप बंदरगाह में रखा जायेगा।

India's first submerged robotic drone is 'EyeROV TUNA'. This was recently launched by the Naval Physics and Marine Laboratory (NPOL) of Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). This robot can send real-time video of sea ships and other seafood items, which will help in repairing these sea vessels and other sea vehicles. It will be used for research and development by the Naval Physics and Marine Laboratory (NPOL). This robotic drone can take real-time HD videos and photos in depths of 50 meters. With this help, sea cabs and sea littered under the sea can be inspected. The first RemoteDaily Operated Vehicle (ROV) is built by a company called EyeROV Technologies.

The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Related Sciences (INMAS) developed India's first anti-nuclear medical kit. This medical kit can be used during nuclear war and radioactive leakage. With the help of this kit, wounds from radiation can be treated. INMAS scientists took 20 years to build this kit. This kit has 25 equipment, this device can protect people from 80-90% radiation and Nerve Agent Gas. This kit has radiation absorption radiations, medicines and ointments. So far, India imported such type of kit from Russia and USA at an expensive price. This kit is made for armed, paramilitary and police forces, because any biological, chemical and nuclear war can be the first to damage these forces.

नाभिकीय चिकित्सा व सम्बंधित विज्ञान संस्थान (INMAS) ने भारत की पहली परमाणु रोधी मेडिकल किट का विकास किया। इस मेडिकल किट का उपयोग परमाणु युद्ध व रेडियोएक्टिव लीकेज के दौरान किया जा सकता है। इस किट की सहायता से रेडिएशन से होने वाले घाव का इलाज किया जा सकता है। इस किट को बनाने में INMAS के वैज्ञानिकों को 20 वर्ष का समय लगा। इस किट में 25 उपकरण हैं, यह उपकरण 80-90% रेडिएशन तथा नर्व एजेंट गैस से लोगों को सुरक्षा कर सकते हैं। इस किट में रेडिएशन (विकिरण) अवशोषित करने वाली बैंडेज, दवाएं तथा मलहम हैं। अब तक भारत रूस और अमेरिका से इस प्रकार की किट महंगे दाम पर आयात करता था। इस किट को सशस्त्र, अर्धसैनिक तथा पुलिस बल के लिए बनाया गया है, क्योंकि किसी भी जैव, रासायनिक व परमाणु युद्ध सबसे पहले इन्ही बलों को क्षति पहुँच सकती है।

10. National Engineer's Day is celebrated in India?

Every year in India 15th September is celebrated as National Engineer Day. It is celebrated in honor of the contribution of Mokshgundam Visvesvaraiya. Mokshgundam Visvesvarayaiah was born on September 15, 1861 in the village of Vahanahalli in Karnataka. He made patent of an irrigation system and established it with its Floodgate in the Khadakvasala reservoir near Pune. By this, storage of flood water in the reservoir was possible to the highest level. This system was also established in Tigera Dam of Gwalior and Krishnaraja Sagar Dam in Mysore. Because of this, Krishnaraj Sagar Dam had become the largest reservoir in Asia during that time. Mokshgundam Visvesvaraiyya is also considered to be a pioneer in economic planning in India. This year's theme is "Engineering Challenges in the Age of Knowledge".

भारत में प्रत्येक वर्ष 15 सितम्बर को राष्ट्रीय इंजिनियर दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इसे मोक्षगुन्दम विश्वेश्वरैय्या के योगदान के सम्मान में मनाया जाता है। मोक्षगुन्दम विश्वेश्वरैय्या का जन्म कर्नाटक के मुद्देनाहल्ली गाँव में 15 सितम्बर, 1861 को हुआ था। उन्होंने एक सिंचाई सिस्टम का पेटेंट बनाया और इसके फ्लडगेट के साथ पुणे के निकट खडकवासला जलाशय में स्थापित किया। इसके द्वारा जलाशय में बाढ़ के पानी का उच्चतम स्तर तक भण्डारण संभव हो सका। इस सिस्टम को उन्होंने ग्वालियर के तिगरा डैम तथा मैसूर के कृष्णराज सागर डैम में भी स्थापित किया गया। इसके कारण कृष्णराज सागर बाँध उस दौरान एशिया का सबसे बड़ा जलाशय बन गया था। मोक्षगुन्दम विश्वेश्वरैय्या को भारत में आर्थिक नियोजन में भी अग्रणी माना जाता है। इस वर्ष की थीम “ज्ञान के युग में इंजीनियरिंग चनौतियाँ” हैं|
