आसानी से अपना आकार बदलने वाला रोबोट इजरायल में विकसित किया गया है। यह रोबोट छोटी से छोटी से जगह में रेंगते हुए पहुंच सकता है तथा उबड-खाबड़ रास्ते को भी आसानी से पार कर सकता है। इस रोबोट की मदद से से आपदा या बड़ी दुर्घटना में बचाव टीमों को मलबे के नीचे फंसे लोगों को ढूंढने में मदद मिलेगी। इस रोबोट का नाम ‘राइजिंग स्प्राउल-ट्यूंड ऑटोनोमस रोबोट’ (आरएसटीएआर) रखा गया है। इसके पैरों में ऐसे पहिए लगाए गए हैं, जो इसके पूरे शरीर के साथ जुड़े हुए हैं। यह एक व्हील चेयर की तरह कहीं भी झटके से मुड़ सकता है और स्वतंत्र रूप से एक जगह से दूसरी जगह जा सकता है। इसके अलावा इसमें सबसे बड़ी खासियत यह है कि यह खुद को इस तरह से बदल सकता है कि दीवार पर चढ़ जाए। सुरंग व पाइप में अपने आकार को बदलते हुए रेंग कर पहुंच सकता है।

मनमोहन सिंह ने बजट पेश कर भारत में आर्थिक उदारीकरण का दौर 24 जुलाई 1991 में शुरू किया था। इस बजट में वि‍देश व्यापार उदारीकरण, वि‍त्तीय उदारीकरण, कर सुधार और वि‍देशी नि‍वेश के रास्ते को खोलने का सुझाव शामि‍ल था। इसका नतीजा यह हुआ कि सकल घरेलू उत्पाद की औसत वृद्धि दर (फैक्टर लागत पर) जो 1951 से 1991 के दौरान 4.34 प्रति‍शत थी, 1991 से 2011 के दौरान 6.24 प्रति‍शत बढ़ी थी। वित्त मंत्री बनने से पहले मनमोहन सिंह भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक के गवर्नर थे। उस वक्त नरसिंह राव देश के प्रधानमंत्री थे। देश दिवालियेपन की कगार पर था। तब उन्होंने मनमोहन सिंह को वित्त मंत्री बनाया था। 2004 में कांग्रेस की सत्ता में वापसी हुई और मनमोहन सिंह को भारत का प्रधानमंत्री बनाया गया था।
