Before its inception, Davangere University functioned as a postgraduate center of the University of Mysore from 1979 to 1987. Later in 1987 with the establishment of Kuvempu University, P.G. The center came under the jurisdiction of the new university due to its geographical location and hence it has started its P.G. Center from 1987 to 2009. The university has four faculty.
