HPSC Civil Services Exam

The rules of Haryana Civil Services Examination change. According to a release, the revised pattern will be based on the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The Haryana government mentioned in a release on July 22, 2020 “the new rules will be called the Haryana Civil Services (Executive Branch) Amendment Rules, 2020”.

Now there will be two papers of 100 marks, which will be in the UPSC Civil Services Examination as per amendment. The first examination paper will be of multiple choice questions and will be referred to as initial recruitment for the state civil services. The preliminary examination will consist of 2 papers.

The introductory paper will be divided into two parts – one to test a candidate’s knowledge of general awareness and the other to test his / her intelligence through logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude and English comprehension. These papers will be of 100 marks each.

For the second exam, it will be called the Mains exam and will be subjective. Candidates will be allowed to appear in this examination after passing the preliminary examination. After passing the Mains exam, students will be required to appear in an interview or personality test and the marking will be done including their score in the personality test and Mains exam.

HPSC HCS Exam Pattern – Personality Test (75 Marks)

The candidates who score marks equal to or greater than the HCS cut off marks will be called for the personality test at the HPSC office premises.

No candidate will be called for the HCS interview unless the candidate attains 45% marks in the aggregate of all the main written question papers and 33% marks in the Hindi and English question papers. The number of candidates called for the HCS personality test will be three times the number of vacancies advertised

Essential Educational Qualification for HCS

A candidate should have graduated in any discipline from a recognized university. Candidates appearing in the final year of their undergraduate degree course may apply, but the final year marksheet or score sheet must be dated before the HCS completion date. The degree certificate / mark sheet must bear the date before the HCS completion date. The HCS application closes 30 days after notification, so it is very difficult to get the final year chart in that period. Due to this, candidates can be disqualified at a later stage.

Age limit for HCS exam

This is a unique feature of this exam because the upper age limit for the unreserved category candidates is DSP. Except 42 years. Post). The lower age limit is 21 years. Age is calculated from January 1 of the exam year. Upper age limit is further relaxed for reserved categories:

Age Limit and Physical Standards for D.S.P

For the post of Haryana D.S.P, the lower age limit is 21 years, and the upper age limit for the unreserved category candidates is 27 years.

Men are required to have Chest with Expansion not less than 34.5”(87.63 cm). No such requirements for females.
