GATE 2020 Admit Card - IIT Delhi has issued GATE Admit Card at GATE, which is available at GATE.ITDC.in. Candidates can download it by entering enrollment number / email address and password. Admit card of GATE 2020 is to be taken as a color printout (A-4) with 1 original photo ID proof. The examination dates for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering are 01 February, 02, 08, 09. The address of the center, time of examination, instructions etc. are mentioned in the gate hall ticket. Things to Carry with GATE 2020 Admit Card

It is important to carry admit card on exam day. However, other than the admit card candidates also need to carry other document. How all the documents should be carried on exam day are as follows:

GATE 2020 admit card: Candidates have to carry a coloured printout of the admit card. Soft copy is not accepted in the exam hall.

• The copy of admit card should be in good condition.

Valid Id Proof: Other than the hall ticket, candidates also need to carry one valid id proof. It should be a govt. approved id and must contain photo of the candidates.

• Charts/tables/papers (Scribble pads are provided for rough work at the exam center)

GATE 2020 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for GATE 2020 is as follows:

Exam Duration: The candidates get total 3 hours to attempt the examination.

Total Number of Questions: Candidates have to solve 65 questions in the exam.

Type of Questions: 2 types of questions are asked in GATE and these are:

• Multiple choice questions (MCQ)
• Numerical answer type (NAT) questions

Maximum Marks: The exam is of total 100 marks.

• 15 marks are for general aptitude.
• 85 marks for subject paper.

After the exam ends, candidates can check their GATE 2020 results and scorecard on appsgate.iitd.ac.in. The raw marks of GATE are normalized for papers that are organized in multiple shifts. However, the score for a paper to be held in 1 single innings is based on the raw marks of the candidates in the examination. Candidates have to use their GATE 2020 enrollment ID and password to check the result. Note that candidates have to download the GATE 2020 scorecard and keep it safe with them for the purpose of admission and recruitment. The scorecard of GATE is valid for a period of 3 months from the date of declaration of result.

GATE 2020

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level engineering entrance exam conducted annually by IIISc, Bangalore and IIT. On the basis of examination, admission is given in M.E / M.Tech / M.Arch / Ph.D courses. The score of GATE is also used for PSU recruitment. GATE is conducted online for only 25 subjects.

GATE 2020 Admit Card FAQ

Q1: Is Admit Card sufficient to get admission in GATE 2020 Examination Center?

Nnswer. Admit card candidates have to bring original and valid photo identity document, which was specified during the filling of online application. For Indian candidates, only the following identity cards will be accepted: Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar-UID, College ID, Employee ID and Driving License. For international candidates, only a valid passport / government issued ID / college ID / employee ID will be accepted as a recognized identity.

Q2: Can I bring a soft copy of admit card (in mobile phone / tablet / laptop) to get admission in GATE 2020 exam center?

Answer: No, a hard copy (printed in color) of the admit card will be brought at the examination center with at least one original (not photocopied / scanned copy) and valid (not expired) identification document (ID), which was specified While filling the online application.

Q3: Will I be provided with any paper for rough work and calculations during the examination?

Answer: The candidate will be provided with a scrabble pad which can be used for rough work. The candidate must return the scrabble pad after the examination.

Q4: Am I allowed to leave the examination hall during the examination?

Answer: No, the candidates will not be allowed to leave the GATE 2020 examination hall for any reason during the examination. The candidates are allowed to leave the examination hall only after the scheduled end of the examination.

Q5: Which items are not allowed to be brought with me inside the GATE 2020 examination venue?

Answer: Only gate admit card, ID card and a pen are allowed inside the examination gate. Mobile phones, physical calculators, wristwatches or any other electronic items are not allowed inside the examination hall. If a candidate brings any of these items, they should be kept outside the examination hall at the risk of the candidate. If the candidate is found in possession of these items, they will be disqualified.

Q6: Can I use a physical calculator during the exam?

Ans: No During the online GATE 2020 examination, a virtual scientific calculator will be provided to all candidates to be used to answer the questions. Mobile phones, physical calculators, wristwatches or any other electronic items are not allowed inside the examination hall.

Question 7: Will there be any arrangement in the examination center to keep my personal belongings like my mobile phone safe?

Answer. Such an arrangement will not be made at the examination center of GATE 2020. If a candidate brings personal belongings including mobile phones, they should be kept outside the examination hall at the candidate’s own risk. GATE officials are not responsible for keeping your personal items safe.

Question 8: Will there be a “magnified question paper” for PWD candidates who are visually impaired in the examination?

Ans: Yes, there will be.
