According to the Sample Registration System (SRS), 2018, the neonatal mortality rate in India is 23 per 1,000 live births. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan issued a detailed progress card on the goal of India New-born Action Plan (INAP). National Newborn Week is being celebrated from 15 November to 21 November with the theme of ‘Quality, equity, dignity for every new-born at every health facility and everywhere’.
