SBI Clerk Exam Pattern / Examination Plan

Preliminary examination

  • The online online written test will be of multiple choice objective type.
  • A will be a composite paper for 100 questions of total 100 marks.
  • Duration The duration of the test will be 01:00 hour (60 minutes).
  • Objective tests will carry negative marks for incorrect answers. For each wrong answer, 1 / 4th of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted.
  • This exam will consist of 3 sections:

SBI Clerk Syllabus 2020

The Preliminary Exam

The Preliminary Exam has only 3 sections English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning. So we request all the candidates to focus only on these three subjects and practice as much as possible. Here we are providing you the detailed syllabus for SBI Clerk 2020.

Quantitative Aptitude / Numerical Ability: The main thing in this section that you need to remember is to maintain a good pace through 20 minutes as you know different times will be given and the number of questions is 35. So you have to solve every question. In constant motion. Which chapter can be asked below questions:

  • Data Interpretation (Weightage - 5Q): Bar graph, line chart, tabular etc.
  • Number Series (Weightage - 5Q): Complete the series, find the missing word, etc.
  • Miscellaneous Questions (Weightage - 15Q): Average, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Menstruation, Percentage, Ratio and Ratio, Algebra, Profit and Loss, Time Speed ​​and Distance, Time and Work, Permutations and Combinations, Mixing Problems, Probability etc.
  • Simplification and Approval (Weightage - 10Q): BODMAS rules, approximate rules, fractions, decimals, surveys and indices etc.

Reasoning Ability: In this section all applicants should focus on accuracy and timing. We advise all applicants not to start with riddles as it may take longer. Always start with separate questions which you can check out the below chapters:

  • Puzzles and seating arrangement (wattage - 8Q to 10Q)
  • Direction Sense (Weightage - 3Q)
  • Blood Relations (Weight - 2Q)
  • Syllogism (Weight - 5Q)
  • Order and Ranking (Weightage - 3Q)
  • Coding and Decoding (Weightage - 5Q)
  • Inequalities (Weight - 2Q)
  • Alpha-numeric symbol series (Weightage - 5Q)

English language: Focus mainly on topics like synonyms, antonyms, vocabulary. In this section you can score more marks than any other section because it gives you 20 minutes and this time is very good. You can check out the following chapters:

  • Reading Comprehension (Weightage - 10Q)
  • Fill in the blanks (Weight - 5Q)
  • Para Gumbles (Weightage - 5Q) / Close Test (Weightage - 5Q)
  • Spotting Error (Weight - 5Q)
  • Phrase Substitution / Sentence Correction (Weight - 5Q)
The SBI Clerk Main Exam

The chapter for the preliminary examination in the main examination is the same in Math, Reasoning and English, but the weightage will be changed. And computer aptitude will be combined with Reasoning section. The topics for General / Financial Awareness and Computer Aptitude are given below:

General / Financial Awareness: - In this section all applicants should read Daily Current Affairs. Also, make time for Static General Awareness as both the subjects will be asked questions in this section. You can check the chapter from the list below:

Computer Aptitude: - The pattern has changed now, traditionally banks asked students about computer awareness but now a days questions related to binary number conversion will be asked. SBI can ask you the conversion of binary number to decimal and vice.
