Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has recently launched a scheme for distribution of fortified rice through Public Distribution System (PDS). The scheme, which was launched on Statehood Day, aims to help reduce malnutrition and anemia. Fortified rice is a mixture of fortified rice kernel (FRK) rich in iron, vitamin B-12 and folic acid.
2. How much amount has been released as 2 installments to 16 states and 3 union territories for GST compensation?
Answer – 6000 crores
The central government is going to release a second installment of Rs 6,000 crore to 16 states and 3 union territories. According to a recent statement by the Finance Ministry, the total amount released to states to meet the shortfall of compensation under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) under a special window is Rs 12,000 crore.
