Navodaya class 6 admission eligibility criteria: -

• The candidate seeking admission must have been born before 01-05-2008 and not later than 30-04-2012. This will be applicable to all categories of candidates, belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). In case of doubt of a candidate seeking admission, he / she may be referred to the Medical Board for confirmation of age. The decision of the Medical Board will be final.
• The candidate appearing for the selection examination should be studying in Class-V for the academic session 2020-21 in Government / Government aided or other recognized schools or ‘B’ Certificate qualification course of National Institute of Open Schooling in Samadhyay Where he wants entry. A school shall be deemed to be accredited if declared by the government or by any other agency authorized by the government. Students, where students have obtained under National Institute of Open Schooling, must have NIOS accreditation. A candidate must successfully complete Class-V in the session 2020-21. Actual admission to class-VI for the session 2022-2022 will be subject to this condition.
• Those candidates who will be passing the ‘B’ Certificate Competency course of the National Institute of Open Schooling on or before September 30, 2019 are also eligible to write the entrance examination, provided they are in the prescribed age group. Forms of such candidates will be verified by DEO / DIOS. The rural status of a child of the National Institute of Open Schooling will be displayed on the basis of a certificate issued by the Tehsildar / District Magistrate of the District, indicating that the child has been residing in rural areas for the last three years. The above scheme from urban and notified areas are not eligible for getting seats in rural quota.
• A candidate who has not been promoted and admitted to Class-V before September 15, 2020 is not eligible to apply.
  No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test for the second time under any circumstances.

Eligibility For 6th Class Admission:

• The candidate must be studying in class 5th.
• The age of the candidate should be between 9-13 years.
• Candidates are not allowed to appear for the test for the second time irrespective of the circumstances.

Eligibility For 9th Class Admission:

• The candidate must be studying in class 8^th
• The age of the candidate should be between 13-16 years.
• The rural quota is considered only when the candidates have studied classes III, IV, and V in a rural area school.

Reservations:

• Area wise: Rural: Urban –75%: 25%
• Gender wise: Boys: Girls –67%: 33%
• Category wise: SC and ST –Minimum 15% and & 7%; Maximum 50% for both the categories taken together.
• Physically Handicapped: 3%

Documents Required for Navodaya Class 6 Admission

Parents of children who have passed the selection test are required to submit the following documents at the time of admission for verification:

• Residence certificate in prescribed performance.
• Proof for date of birth. However, if any doubt arises, a medical board will verify it.
• Proof of eligibility as per the terms of NVS.
• For candidates seeking admission under the rural quota, parents will also have to produce a certificate to the effect that the child had studied in an institute located in a notified rural area.

Any other documents are required.

For Rural Candidates: -

At least 75% of the seats in the district will be filled by selected candidates from rural areas. The remaining seats will be filled from the urban areas of the district.

• Candidates seeking admission under rural quota should study in full academic session class-III, IV and V from a government / government aided / government recognized school (s) located in rural areas. However, the candidate should schedule a full academic session in Class-V from the same district where admission is sought.
• Candidates studying under the schemes of National Institute of Open Schooling should produce their rural status certificate issued by the District Magistrate / Tehsildar / Block Development Officer.

For Urban Candidates: -

A candidate who has studied in class-III, IV and V even for one day of the session in a school located in an urban area, shall be considered as an urban candidate. Urban areas are those defined through the 2011 census or subsequent government notification. All other areas will be considered rural.

Navodaya class 6 exam result: -

• At least 75% of the seats in a district are filled by candidates selected from rural areas and the remaining seats from the urban areas of the district.
• Reservation of seats in favor of children belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is provided in proportion to their population in the respective district, provided that no district, such reservation shall be below the national average (15% for SC and ST. -7.5%) but for both categories (SC & ST) a maximum of 50% is taken together. These reservations are over and above the selected candidates under the interchangeable and open qualifications.

How to apply : -

1. The process of applying for JNV selection test has been simplified through online process. Detailed and thorough verification of evidence for residence, age, eligibility, etc. will be done for successful candidates through the prescribed process.
2. Eligible candidates can visit Common Service Center along with their parents / guardians and also get the certificate from Head Master Offschool where the candidate is studying in class V. The format of the certificate can be downloaded from the committee’s website www.nvshq. Sample of org format is attached.
3. In case of NIOS candidates, the candidates should obtain a ‘B’ certificate and reside in the same district where it is seeking admission.
   The application for JNV Selection Test 2022 is being processed through the Government’s Common Service Center, Govt. Of India. The Common Services Center has around 2.6 lakh centers across the country, covering almost every village. As per the MoU with NVS, a Common Service Center Parent / Candidate will be paid Rs 35 / - (Thirty-five only) for the service fee for uploading the application form per service.
